The much awaited launch of iPhone could be as early as september 2008 in India.Earlier, it was reported that Apple's iPhone launched could be delayed due market problems. But,reports indicate that an Indian iPhone could be just around the corner, allegedly available in September between Rs 27,200 and Rs 28,000.

Vodafone is expected to have the 8GB iPhone during the first week of September, with the 16GB version to surface in the middle of 2009. The news reportedly comes from Apple sources in Singapore, who only a few months ago was revealed as "tight lipped" until recently. Because of the excessive delay, iPhones are commonly bought on the grey market, unlocked. This has a consequence of lowering overall call quality, and a few other drawbacks.

Dhoni rewards Green Park pitch curator

A grateful Mahendra Singh Dhoni sent a note of thanks and Rs 10,000 to Green Park stadium's pitch curator for preparing the turning track that helped the hosts clinch the series-levelling win over South Africa in the third Test here.
Curator Shiv Kumar said he was pleasantly surprised to receive a personal note of thanks and the cash reward from the stand-in Test skipper after the hosts beat the Proteas inside three days on a crumbling pitch to level the series 1-1.
Kumar said regular Test skipper Anil Kumble, who missed the decider due to a groin injury, also came down to meet and thank him for preparing the "spinner-friendly" pitch after the match.
Off spinner Harbhajan Singh, who won the man of the series award for scalping 19 wickets, also met Kumar to praise and thank him.
However, Kumar maintained that the Green Park wicket was a sporting one and it was unfair to say that it only aided the slower bowlers.
"The South African batsmen just couldn't get used to it (the pitch) and were unsure of how the ball would behave," he said.

Inflation skyrockets to 7.41%, UPA in trouble.

Inflation, Inflation, inflation!!!!. What is inflation and what impact it has on price rise of essential commodities ?Everyone, from the opposition party to the common man are talking about inflation and price rise. The media flashes "Breaking News" of the weekend inflation numbers and debates endlessly about its impact on the Indian economy. The economists dread these huge inflation numbers and worry about its direct impact on price rise.Indian inflation for this weekend is 7.41% as against 6.98% the previous week.

Inflation is a direct relation between the supply chain and demand for the product. When the demand inflammates and also the supply of the goods decreases, the prices obviously goes up.The rate at which the prices of everything go up is called the "rate of inflation". For example, if the price of something is Rs.100 this year and next year the price becomes approximately Rs.104 then the rate of inflation is 4%. If the price of something is Rs.80 then after a year with a rate of inflation of 4% the price go up to (80 x 1.04) = Rs.83.2.

So, a higher rate of inflation means the value of the product, you buy increses or the value of your money reduces. That is why, the Left parties and others demand the UPA government to take necessary fiscal measures to bring down the inflation rate and also the prices of essential commodities.

The Finance minister says that the global prices have risen up and so the prices in India also go up. It is learnt that inflation in many countries at this point of time is in double digits.

China - 11.5%

Turkey-9.3%

Venezula-22.4%

So, only way for you and me is to spend our money tactically and save some for the future.

I am eager to work with Rajni sir: Ash

The reigning queen of Bollywood and the humble Bachhan bahu, Aishwarya Rai, is all set and raring to work with Tamil matinee idol and superstar Rajnikanth. Rumours milled that Ash, has rejected the offer to act in Rajni's forthcoming heavy weight, "Robot" due to rather less salary she would get from it(4 Crores!!!).

Aishwarya was of the view that, it would be difficult for her to concentrate on one single film for over 2 years and paid just about 4 crores. She obviously would miss out on many Bollywood offers if she commited to "Robot", which may take around 2 years in production(we know how many days director Shankar would take to direct a film !!!).

But after, Rajni had a deliberation with his good friend and Father-in-law of Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bacchhan, she has agreed to act in "Robot".

When asked why she accepted superstar Rajnikanth starrer Robot, Aishwarya said: "I want to work with Rajni sir, yaar. He is phenomenal. Everyone speaks of this experience. I'll actually go through the experience. It's very important for me to come away with something from my films since I give so much."
The film is directed by Shankar, who gave Aishwarya her first break in Jeans. She also spoke about, Rajni, the human being and someone very humble.

"Rajni sir, being the senior that he is, has shown no egoistic traits in approaching me for his last four-five films. And my refusal to do his films was never misconstrued by him. I admire him for that. It speaks volumes for his seniority and his calibre as a human being to never take offence to my no", Ash said.
But, Rajni and Ash combination would sizzle only at the end of 2009.

Egos in the Indian Davis cup team: Paes

Leander Paes, the captain of the Indian Davis Cup team, agreed that ther are egos in the Indian tennis team and also said that it is a challenge for him to overcome it as a responsible captain. Leander's captaincy credentials were questioned by his own players during its last encounter against Uzbekistan, in the Davis cup tie.

The players headed by friend turned rival, Mahesh Bhupathi, had given a written letter about Leander's conduct to the Indian Tennis Association. The players subsequently, rejected to play under him. It is also known that, the association had asked the players to co-operate,and play under him one last time against Japan.

And this, disclosure, ahead of the tie against Japan, has once against revived the ghosts."The team that has egos performs better," said Paes.

"As an athlete you always have an ego but that also means that these guys will put their heart out when they go on court. If there is unhappiness, as a captain, I have to evolve and handle it. It's tough being a captain but the most important thing is I believe in my team," he said. However, Mahesh Bhupathi, who led the revolt against his former doubles partner, assured that all was well within the team. "We have known for the past one month that we will play against Japan and we are all ready for the tie. We are all professionals," he said.

Paes, on his part, maintained that the team was still sorting out certain issues.

Let the egos subside and the games begin.

Yahoo wants a higher bid price from Microsoft

Internet search engine Yahoo says it is "not opposed" to Microsoft's takeover bid, but wants a better price. The letter from Yahoo's board was a swift response to a deadline issued at the weekend by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for Yahoo to agree to the deal.
Microsoft warned if the deal was not accepted by 26 April, it would mount a hostile takeover at a lower price.
The software giant made an unsolicited $44.6bn (£22.3bn) takeover offer for Yahoo on 31 January.
But Yahoo rejected the deal, saying it substantially underrated the company's value and prospects.Yahoo has been seeking links with other media and internet firms that would help it retain its independence.
However, most companies with the financial clout to rescue Yahoo from Microsoft's advances would face scrutiny from competition authorities around the world, should they make a move on the internet veteran

Inzamam to consider suing Akhtar

Beleaguered speedster Shoaib Akhtar could face another legal wrangle for reportedly dragging former captains Inzamam-ul-Haq and Moin Khan into match-fixing scandals. Akhtar apparently told a TV show host that both Inzamam and Moin offered him money to under-perform in some matches, an allegation that left Inzamam livid.

Akhtar earlier claimed he had turned down offers from bookmakers in South Africa and India to under-perform. Inzamam gave enough indications that he was taking the allegations seriously.Inzamam said Akhtar was making baseless allegations to save himself from the ban.He said it was unfortunate Akhtar had resorted to making wild allegations after the ban

Massa kickstarts his points table with a win in Bahrain Grand Prix

Felipe Massa, the Brazilian, has won the Bahrain Grand Prix, for the second consecutive time with his Ferrari team-mate Kimi Raikonnen, coming second. Robert Kubica, who took the pole position for the BMW team came in third followed by his BMW colleague Nick Heidfield.

The race had a dramatic start with McClaren's Lewis Hamilton, starting from third position had a horrific beginning to his Bahrain Race, dropped down to seven place in the first turn and making matters worse, Alonso had a gear problem and collided with Lewis, which unfortunately, had him dropped down to 14th in the grid.

The Bahrain Grand Prix had a Ferrari 1-2 and it was the second win of the season for Ferrari. The BMW team also had a relatively good race with Kubica and Heidfield finishing 3-4 in the race. The highly hyped Force India team also had a good race with the experienced Fishichella finishing an impressive 12th. They have clearly laid there plans to be in the midfield through every race they participate. That is a realistic target taking into account an average car they
drive in.

With the end of this race, Kimi Raikonnen moves to the top of the table in the championship followed by, BMW's Nick Heidfield and McClaren's Lewis Hamilton.

Interestingly, BMW tops the construtor's championship followed by Ferrari and McClaren. So, i think a great race awaits us in Spain in three weeks time. Checkout this space then.

First Pakistani film to be released in India since 1968

Pakistani filmmaker Shoaib Mansoor's much-talked-about award winning film Khuda Kay Liye, about the trauma of liberal Muslims, will hit the Indian theatres on Friday. Mumbai-based Percept Picture Company has the rights of the film and will release it with 300 prints. The movie, starring Naseeruddin Shah in a key role, is the first Pakistani film to have a commercial release in India in more than four decades.

Made at a budget of 60 million Pakistani rupees, the film landed in controversy when extremists and Pakistani clerics opposed it. But when it was released, it became a huge hit in Pakistan.

Lately, Indian films have been allowed to be released in Pakistan like Taare zameen Par and yet to be released Tashan. There is a huge market in Pakistan for Indian films especially Bollywood films. So, Khuda kay liye, is allowed to be released in Indian theatres which opens up a huge market for more pakistani films.

Unlike in Bollywood where there is nearly 1000 films released in a year, Pakistani films released in a year is a paltry 40.

With this new beginning, hopefully both the Indian and Pakistani Public come closer together and may peace prevail in the region.

Rajni slams Karnataka politicians

Shoaib Akhtar - The Bad Boy of Cricket.

He is talented, charismatic and also controversial. One day he steams in to bowl like a hungry tiger waiting for its prey and the other day he goes around beating his own teammate and sleeps in the playing ground in the morning of the first day of a Test match citing health problems. Shoaib Akthar has seen it all. I cannot remember a cricket player who has had more tumultuous carreer than Shoaib Akthar.

He has a great talent to steam roll and cause shiver in the spine of every opposition player but his off field behaviour has got him into trouble time and again. The latest being that the PCB has slapped a 5-year ban on him for his alleged remarks about PCB's functioning within its management.

Interestingly, since his debut, Shoaib has played only 30% of the total matches played by Pakistan. He has been plagued by lot of injuries to his body incessantly. He has been under the scanner time and again by the PCB and ICC.

I personally feel this is the end of the road for Shoaib, but you never know with Shoaib!!! He might be back, bowling to Sachin and uprooting his middle stump, which, ofcourse will make a great duel.

Carreer abhi bakhi merai dhost !!!
