Indian Premier League(IPL) will not be held in India this year. The Indian General elections dates and IPL dates had clashed. The Home Ministy of India and state governments feared of security difficulties as it would be difficult to provide security to both elections and IPL. IPL may be held in April-May in either England or South Africa.
The timings and schedule will remain the same and there will be changes only to the venues. But next year the IPL will be played back in India.
BCCI has blamed the Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh government for not able to stage the IPL in India this year.
