Indian Embassy attacked in Kabul


India's Defence Attache Brigadier Mehta and three other Indians have been killed in the suicide attack on the Indian Embassy in Kabul.A high level team is leaving for Kabul to assess situation in the wake of suicide attack at Indian Embassy.A suicide bomber blew up an explosive-filled car at the gate of the Indian embassy in the centre of the Afghan capital Kabul on Monday, killing 40 people including two ITBP security persons. The real target was the vehicle of India's Defence Attache. The bombers succeeded in their attempt and Defence Attache's car has been hit.Four Indian nationals have been killed in the attack, the Indian ambassador said.When asked to confirm reports that four Indian nationals had been killed in the attack, ambassador Jayan Prasad said: ''Yes, I can confirm that.''An Indian foreign ministry official said at least two Indian paramilitary troopers guarding the embassy were among those killed in the attack.''Our information says two personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police have been killed in the attack,'' the ministry said.
