After a rough year in McClaren, the Spanish F1 driver and champion of 2006 season, Alonso looks calm and composed this season in his Renault team. Renault is where everything started for Alonso. He had a great year of 2006, where he challenged the great Michael Schumacher, and also won the season's championship. Things didnot carve out well for the Spaniard in McClaren in 2007. There was bitter rivalry between him and his fellow McClaren driver Lewis Hamilton. Ron Davis, the McClaren boss had a tough time in persuding with both of them. In the end, it was Ferrari's Kimi Raikonnen, who was laughing all the way to the Championship medal.
Back to 2008, and Alonso is all smiles with his Renault team, though his title challenge is quite weak. The latest news being that, Alonso might join Ferrari in 2009.
"We are at the second race of 2008 and it is too early to start talking about next year. We must all be calm and see later," Alonso replied when queried about his move towards Ferrari in 2009.
But there is no smoke without fire, right ?
