Hamilton wins Australian Grand Prix

In a race which had 5 different drivers in the top 6 positions, Lewis Hamilton of Great Britain had a near perfect race leading from the pole to the finish line. Australian Grand Prix generally is full of great drama and this year is no exception. Being the first race of the 2008 calendar year, all the teams were fully equipped for a riveting season.

The Englishman dominated from the start in his McLaren to beat Nick Heidfeld's BMW Sauber and Nico Rosberg's Williams. Rosberg's third place was the best result of his career in his third full season.

Ferraris had a disastrous oting with both the ferrari cars failing to finish past chequered flag. But the best part for Raikkonen is that he is allowed to change to a new engine for the next race in Sepang,Malaysia due to a mechanical failure this time.
Now to Spaniard Alonso. He had a good race with his Renault finishing Fourth. This is a commendable effort taking into consideration the car he was driving which is much less superior in comparison with the McClarens and Ferraris.

And for all those Force India fans, it was disappointing week.Though they are not expected to win any points throughout this season with the help of a customer Ferrari engine, they are expected to atleast finish the race. This didnot happen.
Thats the analysis of the first race of the season kicked off in Melbourne this weekend.
See u all in Sepang, Malaysia.
